PBO cables

Zylon®, produced by the Japanese company Toyobo, is an extremely strong fibre. Its strength and modulus are higher than those of any synthetic fibre on the market and almost twice of Kevlar®. Although fairly new, many applications that require an extremely high strength and thermal stability use Zylon fibres.

FibreMax cables made with Zylon®-HM are as strong as steel-wire ropes, polyester or nylon ropes, but offer remarkably smaller diameters and significant less weight (when compared at the same MBL). This increased strength and weight reduction offers major advantages in terms of easier handling, increasing safety, faster operations and downsizing of constructions.
