Delivery of aramid cables in fair attraction

KMG, the innovative Dutch manufacturer of fair attractions, is currently building their latest attraction "Mission Space". This will be the largest mobile fair attraction in the world ever build. The attraction is 80 metres high, has two arms on both sides and two gondolas for 10 people. When the complete machine rotates with a speed of 65 km/h people can enjoy the feeling of a "space ride".

FibreMax has supplied all suspension cables for the two arms and the cables that support the gondolas. The aramid cables of FibreMax were selected because of their high reliability, high strength, extreme light weight and length tolerance. Due to the light weight of the aramid cables the attraction is not only easier to install and transport, it also has a lower power consumption during operation.

The aramid fibres were supplied by Teijin Aramid BV. Aramid fibres have been the ultimate choice for this application because of their high strength to weight ratio, long life span and excellent properties under extreme environmental conditions. It is the first time aramid cables have been used in this application.

KMG is currently busy with the final assembly and after the latest test runs the attraction will be touring around fairs in Holland in 2011 and later also in Europe.
